Information on the implementation of the Accessibility Act on our website
The companies of Pirktl Holiday GmbH & Co KG are actively committed to ensuring that our corporate websites meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) — implemented in Austria through the Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG) — with regard to digital accessibility. Our goal is to give all users — regardless of their individual circumstances — unrestricted access to our digital content. This statement applies to the website www.schwarz.at of Alpenresort Schwarz.
What has already been implemented on this website
As we build the new website, we are focused on accessibility from the very start:
- Keyboard operation: Interactive elements are implemented as genuine links and buttons and can be reached by keyboard; a clearly visible focus ring always shows you where you are on the page — even in the dark menu.
- Semantic structure: A clear heading hierarchy, navigation landmarks and ARIA attributes support screen readers and other assistive technologies.
- Alternative text: Images carry descriptive alt text; purely decorative elements are hidden from assistive technologies.
- Reduced motion: All animations (scroll effects, menu, image transitions) respect the system setting “reduce motion” (prefers-reduced-motion).
- Contrast: Our colour palette relies on high-contrast combinations — dark text on a light background, or light text on dark green surfaces.
Known limitations
This website is currently under construction. Many subpages are not yet available, so individual links may temporarily lead nowhere. A full external audit of the website's conformity with EAA requirements is still pending. Implementing digital accessibility is a complex, ongoing process — we are continuously working on, among other things, the following areas:
- Structure and navigation: Optimising user guidance for people with motor impairments.
- Alternative text and contrast: Improving the display for users with visual impairments.
- Screen reader support: Technical adjustments for better use with assistive technologies.
- Keyboard navigation: Ensuring that all functions can be operated entirely without a mouse.
We are working closely with experts and specialists to make our website accessible step by step. Given the complexity and effort involved, full implementation will take some time.
Support through AI-based tools
To further improve accessible access to our website, we recommend the use of assistive technologies such as Microsoft Copilot. This AI-based tool can help structure content, summarise information and complete tasks more efficiently. Microsoft Copilot is integrated into various Microsoft 365 applications and into the Edge browser, and offers features that can be particularly helpful for people with different needs.
Our commitment
For us, accessibility is not just a legal obligation but an expression of our commitment to lived hospitality and participation. Making our offerings accessible to everyone is a genuine concern of ours. That's why, for years, we have been channelling our commitment specifically into implementing a wide range of measures.
24/7 phone availability and personal support
Our hosts are personally available around the clock at +43 5264 5212-0. They'll advise you in detail, take bookings and offer personal support at any time — by phone and on site at Alpenresort Schwarz.
Individual needs
During your stay at Alpenresort Schwarz, too, we do everything we can to remove barriers. If you have particular needs — for example regarding accessibility, diet or allergies — it is best to get in touch before you arrive, by phone at +43 5264 5212-0 or by email to hotel@schwarz.at. We'll give you honest, personal advice on what's possible and find the right solution together.
Inclusion
For us, inclusion means enabling individual opportunities and creating genuine prospects. It is an essential part of our corporate culture and leads to equal participation — including in the labour market. As early as 2018, our commitment to inclusion was recognised by the Social Ministry Service (Sozialministeriumservice) with the “We are inclusive” seal of quality.
Feedback welcome
If you come across any barriers on our website or have suggestions for improvement, we would love to hear your feedback — by email to hotel@schwarz.at or by phone at +43 5264 5212-0.
Thank you for your interest, your support and your trust as we work towards a more inclusive digital future!
